The Everyday Bowl is the step after a suction bowl. Once a child stops testing gravity and starts wanting to carry their own breakfast to the table, a bowl stuck to the tray becomes an obstacle rather than a help.
At 400mL it holds a proper serve — a full bowl of cereal, pasta or soup rather than a baby-sized portion — and the depth gives a spoon something to work against, which still matters when they're eating in a hurry.
The silicone outer is there for grip rather than suction. It steadies the bowl on the table, takes the clatter out of it being put down, and softens the landing on the days it doesn't quite make it.
A note on stainless steel: light scratches from cutlery are normal over time, the way they are with any metal. It's wear rather than damage, and it doesn't affect how the bowl performs.
