The clasp takes more force than any other part of a lunch box. It gets opened and shut twice a day, usually by someone in a hurry, so it's the part most likely to go first.

Losing it shouldn't mean losing the lunch box. This is a direct replacement — the old one slides out of the holder and the new one slides in. No tools, nothing to unscrew.

It's worth keeping a spare in the drawer given what it costs against starting again.
